Mindful Self-Compassion

For those who wish to transform their internal conversation from critic to cheerleader.

Will 2024 be the year you…..

  • Choose presence over perfection?

  • Lean away from self-criticism and into self-kindness?

  • Shout about your strengths and good qualities instead of your flaws?

  • Be the graceful witness to your emotions rather than the one consumed by them?

Mindful Self-Compassion is perfect if you wish to:

  • Live content and in harmony, leaning away from inner-judgement

  • Be with yourself in an authentic, healthy way in times of difficulty

  • Give yourself the same caring attention you give to others, minus the guilt

  • Motivate yourself with kindness rather than criticism

  • Improve your emotional wellbeing

  • Turn towards yourself as a resource, rather than turning to external or unhelpful sources for validation and reprieve

Why Mindful Self-Compassion?

It runs deeper than a bubble bath

Let’s be real. You can’t run a bath every time you’re having a tough time… I mean, what if you’re at work or out at an important function?! Mindful Self-Compassion equips you with real world resources that take the sting out of a tough moment.

Guidance, not gospel

Arguably the most alluring feature of the program is that you become your own teacher. All the self-enquiry practices, meditations and discussions are invitational to give you the best chance of finding what self-compassionate resources really work for you.

Wherever you go, it follows

Mindful Self-Compassion is not a practice you ‘set and forget’. With such a wide range of topics covered, every challenge, every sticky situation, every uncomfortable conversation becomes an opportunity for mindful self-compassion practice, making this a lifelong resource.

What you gain from the program

  • A renewed sense of self (who you are when you are living true to your core values)

  • Clarity on how to meet the underlying needs of difficult emotions

  • Permission and the inner dialogue to not be so hard on yourself

  • Strategies that foster motivation and ongoing helpful habits

  • Resources to help you navigate difficult relationships from a place of curiosity and compassion

  • Guided meditation and worksheet activities to support everyday embodiment

MSC Modules

The MSC program has been formatted in a particular way that builds foundational knowledge and skill acquisition week-to-week for long term retention and real world use.

Each module includes topic talks, meditation practice, written self-enquiry exercises and debrief/discussion time.

We respect that everyone comes from all walks of life and no one learns anything when they are in overwhelm (triggered). Please know that we only ever invite you to meditate or reflect on mild stressors, not your biggest traumas.

If you are in the group program, each week corresponds to a module.

If you are completing the bespoke 1:1 program, you’ll complete all the module content but spaced out in a relaxed manner with additional time spent on the key areas relevant to your self-compassion practice and your life. This will be discussed with you in the discovery call.

  • This module establishes a conceptual foundation for the program. Clients are introduced to self-compassion: what it is and what it isn’t. Intentions for the program are also set here.

  • This module is all about the ‘mindful’ in mindful self-compassion, or warming up your ‘noticing’ switch. You’ll learn to recognise subconscious resistance and backdraft - two areas that without mindfulness cause us suffering. You’ll gain a greater understanding of mindfulness and it’s crucial role in self-compassion.

  • In this module you’ll have a chance to experience the different between kindness and compassion, as well as learn how to evoke a felt sense of both. This module expands on mindfulness, by teaching you how to bring loving awareness to yourself.

  • By now you’ve establish how to be kind to yourself, now let’s expand that to compassion. This module is all about cultivating your inner compassionate voice, so that you can begin to motivate yourself towards positive change with encouragement rather than criticism.

  • Our capacity for self-compassion is deeply tied to how clear we are on our core values. A large portion of this module is spent on discovering your core values. All beings wish to be seen, heard and loved. This module also touches on the practice of compassion and self-compassion while we are with others.

  • This bonus session is designed to give you a deeper experience of the practices of kindness and compassion. In this spacious and relaxed setting integrate the teachings and savour the power of a silent meditation retreat. You’ll be guided through a series of stillness and movement based meditations while all other members of the group hold companionable silence.

  • In this module you will strengthen previously learned skills by applying mindfulness and self-compassion in a targeted manner to a common source of suffering - uncomfortable emotions. This module also delves into shame and how to use self-compassion as an antidote to shame.

  • Connection is fundamental for our survival but relationships can cause us two types of pain: the pain of connection and the pain of disconnection. Learn how to navigate both with self-compassion, meet unmet needs and approach relational challenges with equanimity.

  • We all have a negative bias, but we don’t have to let it drag us on a downward spiral. This module is all about making the U-turn towards savouring, gratitude and self-appreciation. The second part of this module is focused on program reflection and navigating life after the program. In the closing ceremony say farewell to me and a heartfelt hello to your fierce compassionate self!
